Gorman Creek and Spring. The trail grade steepens as it heads downhill. In another 0.1 mile, ignore another fork on the right that goes to the same places. The trail then really steepens as it drops into the canyon carved by the Colorado River. At 1.5 miles you reach the base of the falls in thickly wooded bottomland. The waterfall tumbles down the sheer travertine bluff, feeding a lush growth of maidenhair ferns and many trees. The vegetation and travertine deposits are very fragile. Please stay on the trail and resist the temptation to leave the trail to climb on the falls. Just below the falls lies the river. When Lake Buchanan is full, the upper end of the lake extends up into this area.
